JOB PURPOSE
At UAST Ihugh, Lecturer I marks the threshold of academic maturity.
A Lecturer I is expected to function as a fully independent academic, capable of owning courses, leading applied research, contributing to innovation ecosystems, mentoring junior staff, and translating agribusiness knowledge into measurable societal and enterprise impact, especially within African food systems.
The job purpose is to independently deliver high-quality undergraduate teaching, contribute substantially to research and publications, participate actively in agribusiness innovation and extension, provide academic mentorship, and render institutional service consistent with UAST Ihugh's mandate for sustainable, enterprise-driven and Africa-relevant agriculture.

Minimum Qualifications

Academic Qualifications (Mandatory)
A PhD in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics or a closely related discipline from a recognised university.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
A minimum of three (3) years post-promotion experience as Lecturer II or equivalent academic experience.
Demonstrable record of independent teaching, research and institutional service.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Proven teaching competence and communication skills.
Research independence with measurable scholarly output.
Applied understanding of agribusiness systems, markets and value chains.
Digital literacy for teaching, data analysis and research dissemination.
