Requirements :
A Grade 12/ National Senior Certificate. A Basic R.425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows for registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic qualification in Nursing Education registered with SANC. Current registration with SANC.
A minimum of 4 years' appropriate/recognisable experience as a Professional Nurse registered with SANC in General Nursing. A Moderator and Assessor course registered with SANC. A Diploma or Degree in Nursing Education.
A Postbasic Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (R.212/R.635 MHN) registered with SANC. Master's degree in nursing/Public health (Applicants who are in the data analysis stage of the research may be considered and those who do not have master's degree in nursing but in possession of a Degree in Nursing at NQF L8 may also apply). PNDI: minimum of 4 years of appropriate/ recognizable nursing experience after being registered as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/ Accoucheur.
Candidates appointed from outside the Public Service shall have one year of clinical experience deducted upon meeting the applicable registration requirements. PNDII: minimum of 14 years of appropriate/ recognizable nursing experience after being registered as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/ Accoucheur, at least 10 years of the period must be appropriate experience in Nursing Education as a Lecturer.
Candidates appointed from outside the Public Service shall have one year of clinical experience deducted upon meeting the applicable registration requirements. Teaching experience of any number of years in a post basic environment will be an added advantage.
A certificate/ Proof of registration in Assessor and Moderator with SANC. A good communication, supervisory, report writing, and presentation skills. Ability to work in a team and under pressure. Computer literacy/ certificate (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). A valid driver's license.
Duties :
Facilitate the provision of Education and Training of specialist student nurses in both clinical and theory. Guide and support student nurses effectively. Exercise control over specialist student nurses. Implement assessment strategies to determine students' competency.
Support the vision and mission of the college through participation in meetings, committees, and college activities. Participate in Scholarly Research and Community Engagement activities at the college. Participate in curriculum development, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review.
