Responsbilities
	Advise the Board, senior management, and departmental heads on complex legal and regulatory matters.
	Provide formal written legal opinions and guidance on the company's business operations.
	Conduct legal and compliance audits to proactively identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
	Ensure rigorous organizational compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
	Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize all commercial contracts,
	agreements, MOUS, and letters for clients (e.g., Tuffsteel Ltd).
	Prepare, review, and manage documentation for leases and licenses for tenants (e.g., Imaara Mall), ensuring timely execution and proper filing.
	Support lease negotiations and finalization for new commercial property developments.
	Follow up on tenant-related repairs, obligations, and necessary corrective measures.
	Manage all company litigation and dispute resolution in close liaison with external counsel.
	Coordinate witnesses and documentation to ensure compliance with procedural requirements in legal proceedings.
	Develop effective litigation strategies and oversee alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
	Handle comprehensive debt recovery processes, including issuing demand letters, statutory notices, engaging auctioneers, and liaising with the DCI.
	Manage all insurance-related claims and disputes in collaboration with insurers.
	Liaise with key government agencies and regulatory bodies (e.g., KENHA, Ministry of Labour, DCI) and represent the company in correspondence. Provide dedicated legal advisory on employment and labour law matters to the HR department, drafting and reviewing related policies and dispute documentation.
Requirements
	Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B.) from a recognized institution.
	Postgraduate Diploma in Law (e.g., from Kenya School of Law).
	Admission to the Bar as an Advocate of the High Court.
	Membership in a professional legal body (Law Society of Kenya).
	A complementary degree in Law, Business Administration, or Public Administration is often preferred.
	3-5 years of post-admission experience in a law firm or corporate legal office.
	Proven experience in contract drafting, litigation, and regulatory compliance.
	Familiarity with construction law, property law, and commercial transactions.
