Human Appeal has seven International Field Offices across the globe.

Main Job Purpose

It is at the heart of the supply chain, involved throughout the logistics chain, ensuring that orders arrive at the right place, at the right time, and in the best condition. It optimizes the flow of goods, reduces costs, and guarantees customer satisfaction. He/she manages general services for the smooth daily running of the office.

Please note that this position is only for Senegalese Nationals.

Key Result Indicator:

  • Orders received by the requested date.
  • Orders are complete and properly labeled, accompanied by correct documentation, and the items or packaging are not damaged.
  • Percentage of projects whose procurement plans have been completed.
  • Average monthly forecast of logistics expenses.
  • Percentage of applications correctly completed and containing sufficient technical specifications.
  • Percentage of direct purchasing processes that are compliant and correctly archived.
  • Average time required to process and complete a call for tenders.
  • Percentage of orders completed within expected timeframes.
  • Percentage of deliveries on time.
  • Percentage of items damaged or lost during transit.

Accountabilities

Main Missions

  • Orchestrate product flow management, from receipt to distribution.
  • Working with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams, they anticipate needs, secure deliveries, and ensure inventory balance.
  • Plan and coordinate merchandise receipt, storage, and delivery operations.
  • Organize and coordinate the receipt of goods and monitor their contents.
  • Check documentation related to various products and integrate arrivals into the computer system.
  • Optimize supply chain costs and timelines by implementing performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and customers to improve service quality and resolve logistics issues.
  • Draft tenders (calls for tenders, competitive bidding, etc.)
  • Participate in the selection of service providers.
  • Item tracking: managing incoming and outgoing flows, recording goods transported, and editing and verifying tracking codes and shipping slips where applicable.
  • Quality control: verifying the integrity of items to ensure their compliance.
  • Monitor and manage all outsourced services.
  • Ensure compliance with Senegal tax, legal, and regulatory frameworks.

Coping with and managing the unexpected

  • He is the master on board and therefore in charge of managing unforeseen events. When a problem arises (delivery delay, equipment breakdown, order error), it is up to him to react quickly and find solutions to limit the impact on the supply chain.

Be involved in regulatory and technological monitoring

  • He ensures that the company complies with current regulations (safety, environment, customs) and adopts new logistics technologies.

Monitor and analyze logistics performance

  • Using key performance indicators (KPIs), they assess the efficiency of the supply chain and suggest improvements to optimize results. This analytical work is essential to ensuring the company's long-term competitiveness.
  • A key player in maintaining annual inventories.​

General resources

  • Performs numerous tasks that meet the demands of various company departments (small renovation and repair projects)
  • Uses external service providers for major projects
  • Contributes to the smooth running of the organization and ensures the quality of the work carried out by external service providers
  • Ensures the office is well-stocked with various supplies (office supplies, maintenance supplies, electricity, water, internet, and various operating expenses).
  • Performs numerous tasks to meet the requirements of various company departments (small renovation and repair projects).
  • Uses external service providers for large-scale projects.
  • Contributes to the smooth running of the organization and ensures the quality of the services provided by external service providers.

Reporting

  • Produce reliable monthly logistics reports.

Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics and transportation). or a related field (required).

    Experience​

  • At least 2 years of experience in an international NGO in the field of logistics, transport and supply.

Skills

  • MS Office Suite​

    Languages​

  • French: essential (for statutory/audit work in Senegal).

  • English: highly desirable/essential (for HQ and donor reporting).
