Job Description / PURPOSE:
The purpose of this role is to generate new business for a portable sanitation product within the construction, civil engineering, and events sectors across the Buffalo City Metro area.
The successful candidate will focus on identifying potential rental opportunities, building relationships with key contacts on construction sites and event venues, and converting enquiries into confirmed contracts. In addition to sales activities, the role includes increasing brand visibility through local marketing initiatives and maintaining strong client relationships to support contract retention and potential upselling opportunities.
This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in the field, engaging directly with site personnel, and managing a pipeline of sales opportunities in a niche local market.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience in a sales or marketing role
Previous exposure to construction, equipment hire, industrial services, or related industries will be advantageous
Matric (Grade 12) is required; a Diploma or Degree in Sales or Marketing will be beneficial
Strong communication and negotiation abilities
Proficiency in English and isiXhosa to engage with local stakeholders
Basic computer literacy including MS Office and CRM systems
Valid drivers license and own vehicle is required
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate would be required, but not limited to:
Identify potential opportunities by visiting and monitoring construction projects, civil works, and local events within areas such as Beacon Bay, Mdantsane, and King William's Town
Convert enquiries and self-generated prospects into confirmed rental agreements by preparing quotations and proposals
Build and maintain professional relationships with site managers, contractors, and event organizers to support repeat business and contract renewals
Promote the company's services by increasing local brand exposure, including capturing site content for social media and distributing marketing material
Maintain accurate records of client interactions and sales activities within the company's tracking system
Monitor competitor activity in the local market, including pricing and service offerings
