Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects with occasional site visits. This includes HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical services, ensuring all designs are efficient, compliant, and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Design
Develop mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and schematics using AutoCAD or relevant tools
Perform system sizing and calculations (cooling loads, pipe sizing, duct sizing, etc.)
Prepare design reports, specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ)
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ASHRAE, BS, NFPA, local codes)
Coordinate designs with electrical, structural, and architectural teams
Technical & Coordination
Review design drawings for accuracy and compliance
Support value engineering and cost optimization initiatives
Participate in design review meetings and technical discussions
Provide technical input during project planning and execution
Site Support
Conduct periodic site visits to ensure proper implementation of mechanical designs
Support troubleshooting and resolve technical issues on site
Review contractor submissions and materials for compliance
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical design (consulting experience preferred)
Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant mechanical design tools
Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
Familiarity with ASHRAE, NFPA, BS, and local standards
COREN registration is a MUST
