Requirements :


Grade 12 plus an appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as an independent Practitioner.
Needs to have had at least 1 year of experience working in a Paediatric Out-patient Department.
Must have completed Community Service. Current registration with HPCSA as medical practitioner. Work experience in the field of Paediatrics and Child Health; Diploma in Child Health (DCH) auxiliary courses relevant to the field of Paediatrics and Child Health will be added advantages.
GRADE 1 No experience after registration with HPCSA as medical practitioner.
GRADE 2 Five (5) years' experience after registration with HPCSA as medical practitioner.


Duties :


Render of clinical services, assessment, and treatment of patients in the Paediatric Outpatient Department. The incumbent will be responsible to interview, investigate, diagnose, and oversee the treatment of patient related administrative duties.
Participate in all activities of the discipline in relation to teaching and research. Participate in departmental audit activities, Prepare, and writing of reports, Communication and community liaison services. Supervise junior doctors (undergraduate students, interns, and community service doctors).
Willing to work longer hours. Attend relevant administrative meetings like mortality meetings, near miss meetings and completing Medico-Legal Documents timeously (e.g., Death certificate).
Improve quality of care by providing appropriate clinical care. Reduce medical litigation by exercising good clinical ethos. Implement and monitor adherence to National Core Standards (norms and standards).
Participate in multidisciplinary team to manage patients. Perform practical procedures relevant to the care of patients. Participate in departmental meetings, journal clubs, case presentations, lectures, and ward rounds. Ensure effective administration and safe record keeping in the department.
