Job Role:
In this role, we are looking for an individual who will play both a conceptual and executional role within the Cellular Marketing team, translating complex offers, propositions and campaign ideas into clear, engaging visual communication.
The ideal candidate will work from detailed marketing briefs and develop strong creative solutions across FlashÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂowned channels. This includes designing for all major mobile network operators in South Africa, with work rolled out across Flash's digital platforms, WhatsApp, retail and POS environments, where precision, consistency and clarity are essential.
This role suits a conceptual designer who enjoys being handsÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂon. The successful individual will have the opportunity to contribute ideas, elevate creative standards and help shape campaign thinking, while also taking ownership of dayÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂtoÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂday BAU design delivery in a fastÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂmoving environment.
Responsibilities:
Conceptually interpret briefs and translate them into clear, engaging and effective visual solutions.
Design and execute campaign assets for telco partners across FlashÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂowned digital, WhatsApp, social, retail and POS channels.
Deliver recurring BAU design tasks accurately and on time, alongside campaignÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂbased creative work.
Prepare artwork for production, ensuring technical accuracy and correct formats for print and digital output.
Maintain and apply brand CI guidelines across all work.
Contribute creative ideas and executional thinking within established campaign concepts and frameworks.
Estimating the time required to complete work.
Collaborate with the Brand Manager and relevant stakeholders to meet campaign objectives and deadlines.
Create eye-catching graphics, illustrations, motion graphics and layouts that align with project goals and brand identity.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to ensure designs are innovative and relevant.
Sourcing imagery for campaigns and concepts.
Understanding the printing process.
Editing of photos for use within print media.
Develop conceptual designs, sketches, and storyboards to communicate ideas effectively.
Requirements
Relevant diploma or degree in Graphic Design.
3-4 years' experience as a designer in an agency, inÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂhouse or retailÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂfocused environment.
A portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking as well as strong execution across digital and print.
Experience within telecoms, prepaid, fintech or promotional retail environments is advantageous.
Required Knowledge / Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop essential).
Strong design execution skills across digital, print and retail touchpoints.
Ability to create static and dynamic assets for social platforms.
Working knowledge of motion design or animation (e.g. GIFs, shortÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂform video, basic motion graphics).
Ability to design beyond static 2D assets.
Good understanding of design principles, layout, typography, colour and hierarchy.
Thorough understanding of print production.
Thorough understanding of design process.
Experience working in highÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂvolume, fastÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂturnaround campaign environments.
Experience using AIÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂpowered creative or productivity tools (e.g. generative AI, automation or designÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂassist tools), with openness and curiosity to continuously learn and evolve as tools change.
