Job Summary

The People, Career & Employability Officer is responsible for managing the organisation's internal HR and people functions while leading learner career development, employability, internship, and job-placement initiatives. The role supports employee recruitment, development, performance, engagement, and wellbeing, while also helping learners build career readiness and connecting them with employers and industry opportunities.

Key Responsibilities


Manage day-to-day HR, employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance, and staff development activities.
Maintain employee records, HR documentation, policies, and confidential information.
Support employee engagement, wellbeing, training, career development, and workplace culture initiatives.
Provide career guidance, coaching, and mentorship to learners and graduates.
Develop career pathways and employability programmes aligned with learners' skills, interests, and career goals.
Support learners with CVs, portfolios, LinkedIn profiles, applications, interviews, and workplace readiness.
Source and coordinate internship, work-experience, and job opportunities for learners.
Build and maintain relationships with employers, recruiters, and industry partners.
Match learners with suitable employment and internship opportunities and monitor placement outcomes.
Organise career workshops, networking events, employer sessions, and recruitment activities.
Track learner placements, graduate employment, and career progression outcomes.
Research labour-market trends and employer skills requirements to improve career programmes.
Collaborate with instructors and management to align training with industry and employment needs.
Prepare HR, career development, placement, and performance reports for management.
Contribute to initiatives that improve employee performance, learner employability, and overall organisational growth.


Job Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Education, Management, Career Development, or a related field.
HR certification such as CIPM, CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent is an advantage.
2 - 3 years of relevant experience in Human Resources, people operations, career development, recruitment, employability, talent management, student services, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of HR practices, employee relations, recruitment, and performance management.
Understanding of career development, employability, internship, and job-placement processes.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and relationship-management skills.
Strong employer engagement, networking, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to manage confidential information and multiple priorities effectively.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with different teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and relevant HR or learner-management systems.
Proactive, people-focused, organised, and results-driven, with a passion for people development, education, and career success.
