Teaching & Instruction
Teach phonics sounds, blending, segmenting, and decoding skills.
Provide instruction on proper pronunciation, articulation, and accent improvement.
Conduct reading fluency exercises, oral drills, and speech practice.
Use engaging teaching methods, including songs, games, stories, and visual aids.
Lesson Planning
Prepare structured phonics and diction lesson plans.
Develop age-appropriate activities and learning materials.
Tailor instruction based on student age, ability, and learning needs.
Introduce new vocabulary and reinforce correct pronunciation.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring
Assess students' phonemic awareness, reading levels, and speech clarity.
Identify speech or reading challenges and provide targeted support.
Track and document student progress.
Give constructive feedback and plan remedial lessons when needed.
Classroom/Session Management
Create a friendly, supportive, and confidence-building learning environment.
Maintain discipline using positive reinforcement.
Manage small groups or one-on-one sessions effectively.
Student Support & Development
Help learners improve reading fluency and communication confidence.
Support students preparing for presentations, speeches, or oral examinations.
Encourage correct usage of English sounds in daily speech.
Parent & Stakeholder Communication
Report student progress to parents or school administrators.
Provide guidance to parents on how to reinforce phonics and diction at home.
Participate in school meetings, trainings, and literacy events when required.
Professional Responsibilities
Stay updated on modern phonics and speech training techniques.
Use appropriate teaching tools (flashcards, audio materials, phonics apps, etc.).
Uphold professionalism and adhere to school policies.
Qualifications
Certificate or training in Phonics, Diction, Speech Training, or Education.
Experience teaching phonics or diction (preferred).
Strong command of spoken English and correct pronunciation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
