Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Physics Teacher to join oursecondary school team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Physics Teacher and responsible for ensuring that students develop a strong understanding of physics concepts, practical scientific skills, mathematical reasoning, problem-solving ability, and the confidence to apply physics to real-world situations; all within a safe, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and Deliver Effective Physics Lessons:
Prepare well-structured lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum.
Teach physics concepts clearly using appropriate examples, demonstrations, and real-life applications.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of different learners.
Encourage questioning, curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Conduct Practical and Experimental Activities:
Plan and conduct physics experiments and practical lessons.
Teach students how to use laboratory equipment correctly.
Connect theoretical concepts to practical applications and everyday experiences.
Ensure students develop scientific investigation and measurement skills.
Assess and Monitor Student Learning:
Set classwork, assignments, quizzes, tests, and examination questions.
Mark and provide timely, constructive feedback on students' work.
Track students' academic progress and identify learning gaps.
Use assessment information to adjust teaching strategies and provide intervention.
Develop Students' Problem-Solving and Scientific Thinking:
Teach students to analyse problems systematically.
Develop mathematical reasoning and quantitative skills required for physics.
Encourage students to formulate hypotheses, interpret data, draw conclusions, and justify answers.
Prepare students for internal and external examinations.
Manage the Physics Classroom and Laboratory:
Establish clear expectations for behaviour, participation, and academic work.
Maintain an orderly, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Ensure physics equipment and laboratory resources are properly stored and maintained.
Report damaged, missing, or inadequate equipment.
Ensure Health, Safety and Safeguarding:
Follow laboratory safety procedures at all times.
Teach students safe practices when handling equipment, electricity, heat, chemicals, and other potentially hazardous materials.
Carry out appropriate risk assessments for practical activities.
Follow the school's safeguarding and child-protection procedures.
Support Students' Overall Development:
Build positive, respectful relationships with students.
Identify students who require additional academic or pastoral support and refer concerns appropriately.
Encourage participation in science clubs, competitions, projects, and STEM activities.
Serve as a positive role model for scientific curiosity, discipline, and professionalism.
Maintain Accurate Academic Records:
Keep accurate records of attendance, assessment results, practical work, and student progress.
Update required school systems and documentation promptly.
Prepare progress reports and other academic records when required.
Collaborate with Colleagues:
Work with other science teachers to coordinate curriculum delivery and assessment.
Participate actively in departmental meetings and school-wide professional activities.
Share effective teaching strategies and resources with colleagues.
Support interdisciplinary projects where appropriate.
Communicate with Parents and School Leadership:
Communicate appropriately with parents about students' academic progress and concerns.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings and reporting processes.
Provide relevant information to school leadership when requested.

Requirements
Academic Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Physics Education, or a closely related field.
A teaching qualification such as PGDE, NCE, or equivalent professional teaching qualification is an advantage or may be required depending on the school.
Relevant professional certifications or registration with the appropriate education regulatory body are an advantage.
Teaching Experience:
Previous experience teaching Physics at the secondary school level.
Experience preparing students for relevant external examinations is an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to teach both theory and practical Physics.
Subject Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of secondary-school Physics curriculum and concepts.
Good understanding of mechanics, electricity, waves, heat, light, magnetism, and modern physics.
