Purpose of the Assignment
The Production Assistant supports the day-to-day manufacturing operations by assisting in food processing, packaging, quality control, inventory management, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards. The role is critical in ensuring efficient production processes and delivering high-quality products that meet MAMLO FOODS' standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hardworking, and passionate about food production and community impact.
Duties and Responsibilities
Production Operations
Assist in the processing and production of peanut butter and other products according to standard operating procedures.
Prepare raw materials and production equipment before the start of production.
Operate production equipment under supervision and report any malfunctions.
Monitor production activities to ensure efficiency and minimal wastage.
Support packaging, labeling, and sealing of finished products.
Quality Assurance and Food Safety
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the production area.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and company quality standards.
Conduct routine checks on raw materials and finished products.
Report any quality issues, contamination risks, or non-conformities immediately.
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and workplace safety procedures.
Inventory and Materials Management
Assist in receiving, sorting, and storing raw materials and packaging materials.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the Production Lead.
Maintain accurate records of production inputs and outputs.
Support stock rotation and ensure proper storage conditions.
Equipment and Maintenance
Clean and sanitize production equipment and workstations after use.
Perform basic equipment inspections with the production technician and report maintenance needs.
Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and stored properly.
Documentation and Reporting
Record daily production data, including quantities produced, raw materials used, and wastage.
Assist in preparing production reports and inventory records.
Document quality checks and sanitation activities.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with the Production, Commercialization and Quality teams to meet production targets.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute ideas to improve productivity, quality and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Educational Background
Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Production Operations, Manufacturing or a related field.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or production environment is an added advantage.
Experience working in an FMCG or agro-processing company is desirable.
Technical Skills
Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to maintain production records and inventory logs.
Familiarity with production equipment and manufacturing processes.
