Description


Research all related technical information from local Design and Prototyping.
Create & maintain vehicle pre-mark ups per model using sales groups both local and German as needed.
Verify & release gross requirements for locally procured parts and export to the ESA system timeously.
Research manufacturing order queries and update the bills of material and specifications accordingl.y
Liaise with production preparation department for all Bill of Material queries.
Investigate & introduce Product Direction Committee issues in accordance with company regulations.
Ensure that the technical information is available, and deadlines are met.
Liaise with all relevant stakeholders as and when required, to complete and finalise projects.
Design of prototype parts in 3D models and 2D, using CATIA, AUTOCAD and INVENTOR drawing software.
Assist in the design and verification of necessary parts.
Create, maintain and print/distribute vehicle maker's plate.
Ensure consideration of cost reduction and appropriate quality, ease of manufacture and fitment.
Ensure that the MAN NORMS, DIN and ISO specifications are adhered to.
Investigate material specifications available in RSA versus Europe and utilise accordingly.
Support the Pre-series process in the roles defined.
Support departments with technical investigations and solutions.
Liaise with suppliers to identify mandatory processes to enable efficient and cost saving designs.
Liaise with After Sales Service to assist with problems in the field.
Liaise with all necessary stakeholders to ensure that products meet the required MAN standards.
Discuss with MAN Germany and MN Technical Departments to resolve design or BOM related Problems.
Liaise with Procurement with technical information for ordering of local content Assist PDC, dealers and branches with technical support and drawings.
Support the localisation program from an Engineering and BOM perspective.
Ensure reduction of costs and excess parts.
Assist with the fulfilment of engineering activities as backup as required.
Streamline and improve systems to make the department more efficient and reduce costs.
Plan and document projects in detail for discussions as required.
Assist in the management of Engineering ISO, budget, and capacity planning.


Requirements

Qualifications:


Grade: 12 Matric Certificate.
Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Process Engineering.

Experience:


Experience with IT programming - 1 year.

Knowledge of Catia, Inventor & AutoCAD drawing and design software with practical design experience - 1 year.
Technical experience in a manufacturing / assembly environment - 3 years.
