Requirements
A three-year tertiary qualification in Geomatics, Geoinformatics or GIS field
A minimum of five (5) years 'relevant experience in Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Geospatial or GIS
Professional registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) will be advantageous.
Key Performance Areas
Support department with geospatial data and products including; 3D building modelling, digital elevation modelling and remote sensing data
Assist with the management and dissemination of geospatial data according to the Spatial Data Infrastructure Act
Carry out and co-ordinate geospatial projects and ensure accurate information is captured, processed and disseminated
Assist with contract management for geospatial tenders
Process, update and maintain geospatial data, layers and metadata
Acquire and standardise data from various formats
Ensure data accuracy and consistency
Provide specialist geospatial advice and analysis to City departments and attend to public information enquiries
Stay abreast with current geospatial technologies and software
Ensure compliance with geospatial data standards; and support the implementation of new remote sensing and geospatial technologies.
