Job Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this post is to provide Teaching and Learning, Research, Engagement, leadership, and Administration in the university.
Key Performance Areas:
Teaching and Learning:
The provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Research:
The provision of leadership in research and the production of accredited research outputs at a school level.
Engagement:
Engagement and leadership in engagement through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the discipline/profession and the community.
Leadership:
The provision of strategic leadership at the level of School end Qualification.
Minimum Requirements:
Educational Qualifications:
Associate Professor:
Doctoral (PhD) qualification in Hospitality Management - specialisation in Hospitality Management
Years of Experience:
10 years of teaching experience at university with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
Professor:
Educational Qualification:
Doctoral (PhD) qualification in Hospitality Management - specialisation in Hospitality Management.
Years of Experience:
15 years of teaching experience at university with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
Key Competencies
Associate Professor:
An extensive record of research outputs including publication in accredited national and international journals and invited presentations at national and international conferences.
A substantial record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' and Doctoral level with some of these students publishing their research.
Postgraduate supervision and graduation of Masters' and Doctoral students in the minimum time.
The provision of strategic leadership at the level of School and Qualification.
Engagement and leadership in engagement through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the disciplinal/profession and the community.
Professor:
An outstanding record of research outputs including publication in accredited national and international journals and invited presentations at national and international conferences.
the provision of outstanding leadership in research at School or Faculty level. A high level of research activity and the production of accredited research outputs. The development of a strong research group with postgraduate students who complete in the minimum time.
Track record of successful fund raising for research.
An extensive record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' and Doctoral level with some of these students publishing their research.
The provision of outstanding and inspirational leadership to the School and University.
A strong record of active participation in and leadership of learned societies and provision of strategic leadership in engagement and leadership in engagement, through which knowledge and skills used to benefit the discipline/profession and the community.
Extensive application of disciplinary/professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.
