Job Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this post is for teaching and learning, research, engagement and leadership and administration in the university.
Key Performance Areas:
Teaching and Learning:
The provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Research:
The provision of leadership in research and the production of accredited research outputs at a school level.
Engagement:
Engagement and leadership in engagement through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the discipline/profession and the community.
Leadership:
The provision of strategic leadership at the level of School end Qualification.
Minimum Requirements:
Associate Professor:
Educational Qualifications:
Doctoral (PhD) qualification in Tourism Management. Specialisation in Tourism Management.
Inherent Requirements:
An extensive record of research outputs including publication in accredited national and international journals and invited presentations at national and international conferences. A substantial record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' and Doctoral level with some of these students publishing their research.
Experience:
10 years of teaching experience at university with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
Professor:
Educational Qualification:
Doctoral (PhD) qualification in Tourism Management. Specialisation in Tourism Management.
Years of Experience:
15 years of teaching experience at university with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
Inherent Requirements:
An outstanding record of research outputs including publication in accredited national and international journals and invited presentations at national and international conferences. an extensive record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' and Doctoral level with some of these students publishing their research.
A strong record of active participation in and leadership of learned societies.
Extensive application of disciplinary/professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.
Key Competencies
Associate Professor:
