Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Project Manager with a background in management consulting to join our growing team in Cape Town / Johannesburg. This is a hybrid role requiring inÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂoffice presence three days per week.
As part of a collaborative and highÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂperforming environment, you will lead strategic projects across financial services, asset management, banking, and insurance. Key Responsibilities and Output Areas Include:
Project Leadership & Delivery
Drive endÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂtoÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂend project execution, from scoping and planning to delivery and stakeholder alignment.
Translate business problems into actionable plans, ensuring clarity, accountability, and measurable outcomes.
Manage timelines, risks, and dependencies with precision while keeping delivery human and collaborative.
Consulting Mindset in Action
Apply structured problemÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂsolving and analytical frameworks to financial services projects.
Partner with clients to design solutions that balance regulatory requirements, operational realities, and innovation.
Bring consulting discipline into project environments—story lining, stakeholder engagement, and crisp communication.
Work closely with senior stakeholders across banking, insurance, and asset management.
Build trust and credibility quickly, ensuring alignment between business and technical teams.
Contribute to thought leadership and knowledge sharing within the team
Key Requirements
4+ years in management consulting or project management, ideally within financial services.
Proven experience leading projects in banking, insurance, or asset management.
Strong problemÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂsolving and analytical ability, with a consulting toolkit (story lining, frameworks, structured communication).
Ability to thrive in agile, fastÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂpaced environments.
Clear communication skills with both technical and nonÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂtechnical stakeholders.
Technical & Domain Knowledge
Familiarity with financial services processes (risk, compliance, operations, transformation).
Understanding of regulatory and governance frameworks in banking or insurance.
Exposure to digital transformation, process optimisation, or operating model design is advantageous.
Soft Skills
Young, dynamic, and adaptable—comfortable with ambiguity and excited to learn.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
A mindset that balances professionalism with authenticity.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, Commerce, or related field.
Relevant certifications (PMP, Prince2, Agile) are advantageous.
Nice to Have
International consulting or project experience.
Exposure to contracting or interim assignments.
Interest in financial services innovation (fintech, digital banking, Insurtech).
