Adkan Services Nigeria Limited is seeking a highly competent and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team of construction professionals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cost planning, contract administration, procurement support, and financial management of construction projects from inception to completion.
This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and proven experience in managing project costs while ensuring value for money and adherence to project budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and tender documentation.
Conduct cost planning, budgeting, and financial forecasting for construction projects.
Analyze drawings and specifications to prepare accurate quantity take-offs.
Evaluate contractor and supplier quotations and provide procurement recommendations.
Monitor project expenditures and ensure compliance with approved budgets.
Prepare interim valuations, variation orders, and final accounts.
Manage contract administration and ensure contractual compliance.
Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
Identify and mitigate cost risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare periodic cost reports and present project financial updates to management.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are achieved.
Support project negotiations and dispute resolution when necessary.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry (mandatory).
Demonstrated experience in residential, commercial, or industrial construction projects.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost control techniques.
Ability to prepare and interpret Bills of Quantities, tender documents, and valuation reports.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant quantity surveying software.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project management principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional membership or registration with relevant bodies such as the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) or Quantity Surveyors Registration Board of Nigeria (QSRBN).
Experience working on high valued projects.
Knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of construction contracts.
Experience with cost management software and ERP systems.
