Job role

The Regional Quality Engineer (RQE) ensures the quality and reliability of Jaza's hardware systems by executing troubleshooting, field modifications, experiments and addressing hardware defects in the field. This role is critical in maintaining field operations, reducing defects, and providing feedback to Engineering for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Pack Troubleshooting (40%)


Execute diagnosis and repair of defective JazaPacks at regional hubs Ibadan, Nigeria.
Train Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and Regional Service Engineers (RSEs) on troubleshooting/repair procedures.
Escalate recurring defects to the Country Level Quality Engineer for Engineering review.
Ensure <2% of JazaPacks are out of circulation at any time.


Non-Conformance Reporting (NCRs) (20%)


Report and document non-conformances (hardware/process defects) from FSEs/RSEs.
Develop action plans for containment, correction, and prevention (CAPA).
Delegate tasks to FSEs/RSEs and track closure deadlines.
Escalate supplier-related NCRs to the Quality Engineering Lead.
Verify 30-day effectiveness of corrective actions.


Field Modifications (20%)


Implement hardware modifications per Engineering specifications.
Track completion and report progress to the Country Level Quality Engineer.
Ensure zero missed modifications in the region.


Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%)


Run experiments requested by the Engineering team.
Gather metrics from Hubs at the Engineering and Country Lead's requests.
