Duties and Responsibilities
Class teaching; Role modelling, guide and counsel, mentor and motivate learners;
Management of ECDE assigned centers
Assist in designing organizing and facilitating learning activities for assigned ECDE pupils/learners.
Providing opportunities for fostering hands -on learning to assign ECDE pupils
Facilitating pre-writing. Pre-reading and number of skills to assigned ECDE pupils
Organizing community mobilization meetings and create awareness of assigned ECDE programmes
Participating in curriculum development for assigned ECDE pupils/learners
Management of ECDE Assigned center
May be designated as an ECDE in charge of assigned ECDE center
Participate in target setting and organizational competencies for assigned ECDE pupils centers.
Develop and maintain a daily register of assigned ECDE Learners /pupils
Administer competency assessments to assigned ECDE Pupils learners
Prepare regular assessment reports of assigned ECDE pupils /learners
Discussing progress reports of learners /pupils with their parents/guardians and school management of assigned ECDE Pupils /Learners
Perform any other duty/activity within the scope of responsibility of an ECDE teacher as may be required by the schemes of service and ECDE Curricula And as may be directed by the responsible ECDE in charge, headteacher of the host primary school and or designated ECDE Coordinator or any other lawful authority
Requirements for appointment: -
Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education offered by KNEC/Ministry of Education or its approved equivalent;
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum grade D+ (Plus) or KCE division IV at 'O' Level; and
Registered by diverse the Teachers Service Commission (TSC);
