Job Purpose
The Regulatory Reporting Analyst is responsible for evaluating, analysing and validating regulatory reports to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. The role provides feedback and insights to key stakeholders to support timely remediation of issues and strengthen reporting governance and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Reporting & Analysis
Review, evaluate and analyse regulatory reports for accuracy, completeness and compliance with regulatory standards.
Identify anomalies, inconsistencies and potential reporting risks.
Perform detailed validation checks against source data and reporting requirements.
Ensure alignment of submitted reports with internal policies and external regulatory frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement
Provide clear and actionable feedback to internal stakeholders regarding report findings and issues.
Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Compliance and Data teams to resolve reporting discrepancies.
Support stakeholders in understanding regulatory requirements and reporting expectations.
Issue Resolution & Escalation
Track and document reporting issues, gaps and exceptions.
Escalate material findings to senior management or governance forums where necessary.
Follow up on remediation actions to ensure timely closure of identified issues.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve regulatory reporting processes, controls and data quality.
Contribute to the enhancement of reporting frameworks, templates and validation rules.
Support automation and efficiency initiatives within regulatory reporting functions.
Governance & Compliance
Ensure all regulatory reporting activities comply with applicable laws, regulations and internal governance standards.
Maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence for reporting processes.
Support internal and external audit requirements related to regulatory reporting.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field.
Experience
+5 years' experience in regulatory reporting, financial reporting, or data analysis.
Experience within banking, financial services, or a regulated environment preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced Excel skills (data validation, pivot tables, formulas).
Experience with reporting tools (e.g., SQL, Power BI, or similar advantageous).
Understanding of data reconciliation and reporting frameworks.
Knowledge & Competencies
Strong understanding of regulatory reporting principles and governance.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
