Job Summary
The Research and Proposal Officer is responsible for identifying funding opportunities, conducting research, and developing high-quality proposals to support organizational growth.
The role involves gathering data, analyzing trends, and producing compelling proposals, reports, and documentation to secure grants, partnerships, and business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis:
Conduct market, sector, and donor research to identify funding and partnership opportunities.
Analyze data and trends to support proposal development and strategic decisions
Maintain an up-to-date database of prospects, donors, and funding sources
Proposal Development:
Prepare, write, and submit high-quality proposals, grant applications, and concept notes
Collaborate with internal teams to gather relevant information for proposals
Ensure proposals align with organizational goals and donor requirements
Develop budgets and supporting documents for submissions
Documentation & Reporting:
Track proposal submissions, deadlines, and outcomes
Prepare reports, briefs, and presentations for management
Maintain organized records of all research and proposal activities
Stakeholder Engagement:
Liaise with partners, donors, and stakeholders as required
Support relationship management with funding organizations
Monitoring and evaluation:
Oversee that we achieve impact.
Key Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field
A Master's degree is an added advantage
Experience: 2 - 5 years experience in research, proposal writing, grant writing, or business development.
Proven track record of successful proposal submissions is a plus

Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Budgeting and financial analysis skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
