Job Overveiw


Operational Environment: Offshore Oil & Gas helicopter operations, including overwater operations, offshore installations and associated bases/support facilities
Primary Standard: Nig CARS, ICAO Annex 19, IOGP 690/and applicable client standards
Regulatory Interface: NCAA and other applicable aviation authorities
Role type: Independent safety-management and risk-assurance function


Job Description


Coordinate implementation, maintenance and integration of the SMS:
Facilitate hazard identification and safety risk analysis;
Monitor effectiveness of safety risk controls;
Monitors the organization's Safety Culture through assessment and timely intervention initiatives;
Ensure safety promotion
Provide requisite safety training for personnel including management staff,
Report SMS performance and improvement requirements to the Accountable Executive.
Conduct investigations, using methodologies such as HFCAS, to identify root cause and mitigations:
Coordinate the organization's Emergency Response Plan 10. To provide independent safety leadership, assurance and risk-management oversight for the company's helicopter operations.
Facilitate Management of Change Process
Coordinate with the quality manager as part of the Hazard and Effect Management Process (HEMP).


Minimum Academic Qualification
The candidate shall possess:


Essential: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in: Aviation/Aviation Management, Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering, Safety Management, Engineering, Risk Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or Humanities.


Added Advantage


Master's Degree or postgraduate qualification in Aviation Safety, Safety Management, Risk Management, Aviation Management, Engineering Management or a related discipline.
Aircraft Maintenance/Pilot Licence


Professional Safety Qualifications


The candidate should possess a recognised professional safety qualification such as: NEBOSH International Diploma or equivalent, IOSH membership/qualification, Aviation Safety Management qualification, ICAO/recognized SMS training, Formal Safety Risk Management training; However, a generic HSE qualification alone will not be considered sufficient


Aviation Experience:
Essential:


The candidate should have a minimum of 8-10 years' relevant aviation experience, of which preferably.
5 years or more in aviation safety/SMS, and substantial experience in commercial helicopter operations, preferably offshore.
