Key Responsibilities.
Lead direct sales efforts across individual, group, and travel trade segments, maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, tour operators, and corporate clients - both local, but mainly international.
Develop and implement sales and promotional strategies, including special offers, marketing activities, and participation in trade events, with required approvals.
Organize and execute site inspections, familiarization/educational trips, press trips, and industry networking initiatives, ensuring effective follow-up.
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to support strategic decision-making and maintain competitive positioning.
Oversee accurate sales forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and achievement of revenue targets, ensuring alignment with the Sales Business Plan.
Coordinate with marketing teams to ensure brand-aligned promotional materials, newsletters, and communication content across all platforms.
Uphold company policies, sales procedures, and service standards while ensuring customer satisfaction, complaint resolution, and quality representation of the brand.
Foster positive team collaboration and represent the company professionally, undertaking additional tasks as assigned by the Commercial Director or General Manager.
Key Requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field
MBA or advanced business qualification preferred
Minimum 8-10 years of senior commercial experience in hospitality.
Proven track record in international sales and distribution of hospitality properties
Experience managing teams and P&L responsibility
Strong background in working with tour operators, travel agents, and distribution partners across multiple markets
Deep understanding of global travel distribution systems and booking platforms
Strong knowledge of African market dynamics and customer segments
Excellent negotiation and contract management skills
Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans
Strong analytical skills and experience with revenue management systems
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively across diverse markets
