The Sales Engineer is a customer-facing, pre-sales individual responsible for helping prospects and clients understand how MRI's PMX Commercial and Residential Management solutions address their operational and business challenges. You will partner closely with Sales to shape opportunities, demonstrate value, and design credible solutions for clients and prospects across commercial and/or residential property management contexts.
Success in this role comes from combining strong discovery and stakeholder management with solid product and domain knowledge. You will typically support multiple opportunities in parallel, run structured discovery and solution workshops, tailor demonstrations to specific use cases, and contribute to written responses (RFPs/ITTs). You will also collaborate with Product and Professional Services to share market feedback and ensure proposed solutions align to customer outcomes.
We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the Cape Town office.


Key Responsibilities


Act as the in-region technical and solution lead supporting Sales for PMX Commercial and Residential Management solutions
Conduct solution demonstrations (remote and on-site), tailoring narratives to commercial, residential, or mixed‑portfolio use cases
Lead client discovery sessions and workshops to capture requirements, map processes, and define success criteria
Own the technical and solution aspects of RFP / ITT responses, including clarifications and written solution content
Partner with Sales on account and opportunity strategy, including qualification, value proposition, and competitive positioning, in line with the MEDDPICC process
Define high-level solution architectures (including integrations, data flows, and non‑functional considerations) in collaboration with Delivery and Product teams
Support proof of concept (PoC) activities where required, agreeing scope, success measures, and evaluation approach
Attend events and exhibitions, showcasing MRI solutions and supporting lead follow‑up through impactful technical conversations
Maintain and enhance demo environments, demo scripts, and reusable sales assets (slides, videos, FAQs, proposal content)
Provide structured field feedback to Product teams on market needs, objections, and feature opportunities related to PMX Commercial and Residential Management
Occasional regional travel to support customer meetings, workshops, and events


Skills & Qualifications


Previous experience in a client‑facing role such as pre‑sales, solution consultancy, or implementation within ERP, Real Estate, Property Management, or Accounting software
Experience with property management systems is beneficial, with exposure to commercial and/or residential portfolios. Direct experience with PMX Commercial or PMX Residential is advantageous but not essential
Strong ability to communicate confidently and credibly with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Proven capability to translate business challenges into clear solution narratives and value‑based outcomes
Demonstrated experience facilitating discovery workshops, capturing requirements, and aligning senior stakeholders
Comfortable producing high‑quality written content for proposals, RFPs/ITTs, and solution documentation
Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to support multiple sales opportunities concurrently
