This role is designed for a high-level technical expert capable of maintaining a robust, scalable infrastructure while serving as a bridge between day-to-day operations and long-term engineering goals. You will be responsible for the health of our virtualized environments, cloud integration, and security posture.
The Senior Systems Administrator ensures the stability, security, and performance of our global IT infrastructure. This involves managing complex hybrid environments (VMware and Azure), overseeing advanced troubleshooting across the stack, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies through standardized, documented processes.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Manages related Service Desk Tool queues and tickets
Resolve or escalate incidents and service requests, maintaining relevant records promptly and efficiently within SLA
Deployment and configuration of vMware Virtual Machines in vCentre and Azure
Installation and management of IT security tools
Build new systems and deploy application software
Install new software releases and system upgrades
Review and updating of SOPs and other relevant documentation
Remote Desktop Gateway management, configuration, and troubleshooting
Configuration of monitoring tools
Active Directory management and troubleshooting
VPN Configuration and troubleshooting
General vCentre management and troubleshooting
Certificate Management
Partner with Engineering, Development and Professional Services teams to ensure successful implementation of new technologies and assures SOP's are accurately recorded and updated
Advanced level technical troubleshooting and fault-finding IT systems and 3rd party tools/services


REQUIREMENTS:


Knowledge of Windows Server technologies, SQL, Active Directory, storage and backup devices, VMWare, Citrix and other solutions as necessary to fulfil job responsibilities.
Proficiency in server, storage and virtualization standards, techniques and tools.
Analytical/problem-solving skills
Clear and concise verbal and written communication to all levels of the organization
Effectively organize and prioritize work.
Simultaneously manage and deliver multiple projects.
Effectively collaborates with peers, cross-functional teams, team leaders and engineering to achieve end-to-end product and process quality.
Effectively influences others to ensure levels of quality and timeliness are met during the service improvement and delivery process
Ability to be available for afterhours and standby when required
Ability to work North American or United Kingdom hours if and when required
Experience with SaaS models and large-scale distributed web architecture utilising Cloud technologies


EDUCATION


VMWare Certified
Azure and /or AWS Certified
Networking certified
ITIL v3 or v4 nice to have
Cyber Security Certification a plus
