The Sales Intern will support the Sales and Business Development team by bridging technical engineering knowledge with commercial sales activities. Leveraging an electrical engineering background, the intern will assist in promoting engineering solutions, supporting proposal development, engaging with clients, and contributing to market development initiatives. The role is designed to develop foundational skills in technical sales within an engineering environment while gaining practical exposure to industryÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂstandard sales practices.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development Support
Assist in identifying and qualifying potential business opportunities for engineering services.
Support sales engineers with lead generation, followÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂups, and opportunity tracking.
Participate in preparing client engagement plans and sales activity schedules.
Technical Proposal & Sales Documentation Support
Assist in preparing technical and commercial sales proposals, quotations, and presentations.
Support compilation of company profiles, capability statements, and project reference documentation.
Translate technical engineering concepts into clear value propositions for clients.
Client Engagement Support
Accompany sales engineers to client meetings and site visits when required.
Assist in documenting meeting discussions, action points, and followÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂup requirements.
Maintain professional communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Market Research & Analysis
Conduct basic market research to identify potential clients, sectors, and projects.
Assist in competitor analysis and tracking industry trends relevant to engineering services.
Support preparation of market intelligence and opportunity assessment reports.
Sales Reporting & Coordination
Maintain and update sales trackers, lead databases, and pipeline records.
Assist in preparing periodic sales reports and performance summaries.
Support coordination between sales, engineering, procurement, and finance teams.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Undergraduate or recent graduate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Strong interest in sales, business development, or commercial roles within engineering firms.
Basic understanding of engineering systems, project delivery, and technical documentation.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
