Job Description
The School Matron will be responsible for the welfare, wellbeing, supervision, and pastoral care of boarding students and for maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation across the school. She will coordinate the day-to-day administration of the boarding hostels, supervise the school's sanitation and housekeeping staff, promote students' discipline and wellbeing, liaise with parents where necessary, and work closely with the Vice Principal (Pastoral) and other members of staff to maintain a safe, healthy, orderly, and child-friendly school environment.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate should possess:
A minimum of a First Degree or Higher National Diploma.
At least 3 years of relevant experience as a School Matron, House Parent, Hostel Supervisor, or in a similar student welfare or housekeeping management role, preferably in a reputable boarding school.
Demonstrable ability to supervise staff and maintain high standards of hygiene, sanitation, and housekeeping.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, counselling, organisational, and supervisory skills.
A caring, patient, firm, and approachable personality with a genuine passion for working with and positively influencing young people.
A very good standard of spoken and written English and good computer literacy.
Strong moral values, integrity, character, and discipline, with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
