Our client is seeking a hands-on and driven Scrum Master to join their Digital & Technology function. This role forms part of a product team and is responsible for ensuring teams are fully functional, productive, continuously improving, and focused on achieving sprint goals.
This is an urgent requirement and forms part of a maternity leave replacement. The successful candidate should be available to start immediately or at short notice.
The successful candidate will support team members in maximising their potential while promoting a strong Agile culture and mindset across the organisation and its stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Agile Facilitation
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, release planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile activities as required.
Promote and demonstrate the core principles of collaboration, prioritisation, team accountability, and visibility.
Work with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of Agile ways of working across the organisation.
Team Coaching & Enablement
Foster a collaborative culture within the department, external development partners, and product teams.
Promote team building and ensure the entire team remains engaged.
Coach the team in creating product backlogs, sprint backlogs, and writing user stories in the most pragmatic way.
Support everyone involved by leveraging their individual skills to maximise team performance.
Delivery Support
Identify and remove impediments or distractions that prevent the team from delivering against their commitments.
Manage Work In Progress (WIP) limits to ensure teams are not working on too many stories or tasks simultaneously.
Help the team establish a predictable flow of starting and completing work.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
Relevant Tertiary Qualification.
SCRUM Certification.
Experience
3 - 5 years' relevant work experience.
Proven Scrum Master experience at an intermediate to senior level.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and challenge stakeholders.
Proven experience as a coach, facilitator, and leader focused on improving team performance, satisfaction, and motivation.
Sufficient technical depth and affinity with the product to understand development and delivery issues within the team and assess their relative importance.
Content knowledge including coding, testing, and business analysis.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and perform to a high standard.
Highly Advantageous
Solid foundation in SAFe and Lean methodologies.
Strong proficiency in Jira.
