Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, preparing financial reports, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting financial decision-making. The ideal candidate must be highly analytical, organized, and experienced in handling end-to-end accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
Ensure accurate and timely bank reconciliations
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial projections
Monitor cash flow and provide recommendations for improvement
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, financial policies, and statutory requirements
Coordinate and support internal and external audits
Manage payroll preparation and statutory remittances (PAYE, VAT, Pension, NHF, etc.)
Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial processes
Provide financial insights to support business strategy and decision-making
Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff (if applicable)
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 4 - 6 years experience in accounting or finance roles
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage
Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, Zoho Books, or similar)
Advanced use of Microsoft Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
