Overview
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing core accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements of the company. The role provides strong technical accounting oversight, supports financial controls, and ensures reliable financial information to support management and project decision-making.
Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Prepare and review monthly management accounts and financial reports
Ensure accurate general ledger management and reconciliations
Support month-end and year-end closing processes
Accounting Controls & Compliance
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
Review accounting entries, reconciliations, and su
pporting documentation
Support audits and regulatory inspections
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Payroll Oversight
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
Review payroll schedules and statutory deductions
Ensure timely payments, collections, and filings
Project & Cost Accounting Support
Support project cost tracking and financial reporting
Work with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on cost control
Monitor project-related expenses and revenue recognition
Team Support & Process Improvement
Supervise and support Junior Accountants and Bookkeepers
Improve accounting processes, templates, and documentation
Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training

Requirements
BSc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional accounting certification (ICAN/ACCA) is required
Minimum of 5 - 8 years' accounting experience
Prior experience in a senior or supervisory accounting role
Experience in construction or project-based organizations is an advantage
