Job Description


The Senior Instrumentation and Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, engineering, implementation, commissioning, and maintenance of instrumentation, control, and automation systems.
The role provides technical leadership across projects and operational activities, ensuring that systems are safe, reliable, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with applicable industry standards.
The position will work closely with process, electrical, mechanical, operations, maintenance, project management, vendors, contractors, and clients to deliver automation solutions from concept through commissioning and ongoing support.


Key Responsibilities


Lead instrumentation and automation engineering for projects and plant upgrades.
Prepare and review Pamp;IDs, Instrument Datasheets, I/O Lists, Loop Diagrams, Control Philosophies and Cause amp; Effect.
Support PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI and SIS design and configuration.
Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, start-up, loop checking and troubleshooting.
Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA and SIL assessments.
Review vendor documents and technical deliverables.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technicians.


Requirements


Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
10 - 15 years relevant experience, preferably in Oil amp; Gas or industrial environments.
Strong knowledge of PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI and SIS.
Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Schneider, Honeywell, Emerson, Yokogawa or ABB.
Knowledge of process control, control valves, instrumentation and industrial communication systems.
Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting and plant start-up.
Knowledge of Functional Safety and SIL is an advantage.
