Job Primary Purpose
The main purpose of this position is to contribute to teaching and learning, research and innovation, engagement, leadership, and administration at the discipline, school, and faculty levels.
Key Performance Areas:
The provision of strategic leadership at the level of School and Qualification.
Provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching.
Research and the production of accredited research outputs.
Postgraduate supervision and the graduation of Masters' and Doctoral students in the minimum time.
Engagement, through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the discipline/ profession and the community.
Minimum Requirements:
Doctoral qualification in ICT or Computer Science.
8 years at the university level.
A strong record of research outputs including papers in accredited national and International journals and presentations at national and international conferences.
A good record of postgraduate supervision at Masters' level with some of these students publishing their research.
Participation in learned societies.
Some application of disciplinary/ professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.
Key Competencies
A good knowledge of the theory and application of ICT discipline.
Good interpersonal skills including communication skills.
Understanding of contemporary theories of teaching and learning in higher education, with demonstrated skills in tutoring or mentoring.
Research Supervision of Undergraduate degrees
A good record of active participation in and leadership of learned societies.
Personal Attributes
