Requirements
A BCom or equivalent level qualification with Accounting as a major subject
At least five (5) to eight (8) years' relevant experience
In depth knowledge of relevant financial legislation applicable to local government, Council policies and procedures
SAP FI/CO and PPM knowledge will be advantageous
Computer literacy in MS Office software (Excel, etc.)
Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
Ability to work under tight timeframes with various deadlines.
Key Performance Areas
Advise, assist and support line departments in respect of the preparation and compilation of annual operating budget as well as adjustment budgets in accordance with legislative requirements
Advise, assist and support line departments in respect of budgetary control and monitoring procedures in accordance with statutory and internal requirements
Advise on and ensure implementation of budgetary control policies and procedures by line departments in order to comply with statutory, internal requirements and to maintain integrity of the operating budget
Analyse and provide financial information required for internal and legislative reporting in accordance with prescribed legislation National or Provincial guidelines and Organisational requirements
Perform ad hoc tasks as required within the Operating Budget Branch and Budget Departm
