Role Description
The Senior Relationship Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Lagos, responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of high-value individual and SME customers.
This role involves developing and maintaining strong client relationships, understanding customer needs, and recommending appropriate credit, investment, and payment solutions.
The Senior Relationship Manager will lead account planning, prepare and present proposals, oversee credit applications, and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
Daily activities include monitoring portfolio performance and risk, coordinating with internal teams to deliver seamless service, and identifying new business opportunities through market research and networking.
The role also includes meeting revenue and growth targets, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies, and contributing to Stateside Bank's customer-centric and high-achieving work culture.
Qualifications
Strong relationship management, customer service, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and long-term partnerships.
Experience in business development, sales, and portfolio growth within banking or financial services, particularly with SME and retail clients.
Solid understanding of credit analysis, risk assessment, and financial products (loans, investments, payments), with the ability to interpret financial statements.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex financial solutions clearly.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in basic office and digital productivity tools; familiarity with core banking or CRM systems is an advantage.
Demonstrated commitment to integrity, customer-centricity, and high performance in a regulated environment.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; professional certifications in banking or credit are an added advantage.
Previous experience in a Relationship Manager or similar client-facing role in a bank or financial institution, preferably at a senior level.
