Requirements
A relevant three-year tertiary ICT qualification or a related field
A minimum of three (3) years' relevant industry experience in Telecommunications Fibre Networks, Networking and Knowledge of Monitoring/Event/Fault/Management applications for Fibre/DWDM networks
Experience in networking, network applications and in leading a vendor or in-house Telecommunication teams would be an advantage
Valid Code B driver's licence.
Key Performance Areas
Undertake and lead technical activities within the Switching Facilities and Fiber OSP infrastructure maintenance and repairs
Provide quality supervision and control of maintenance and repairs of the City's Fibre, DWDM Network and Applications
Ensure as-built information submitted accordingly for update; ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, guidelines, EHS provide feedback to management
Design Interpreting: Review and interpret the drawings/plans specifying changes in records or as-built information
Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Fibre, DWDM network maintenance as well as contractors involved in the supply and update of information to fulfil delivery commitments of the section
Provide support to project management and operations management as required to ensure commitments are met by City vendors
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders.
