The ideal candidate will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in retail merchandising, particularly within FMCG or food retail environments.
Key Responsibilities
Attend to customers professionally and handle sales transactions accurately
Weigh, package, label, and display cereals and related products
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety within the shop
Manage basic stock control, including monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages
Handle cash, mobile money, and POS transactions responsibly
Maintain proper product arrangement, shelf organization, and visual merchandising
Support in product promotions and in-store visibility initiatives
Coordinate with fellow shop attendants and supervisors to ensure smooth operations
Track and report daily sales performance and stock movement
Assist in achieving daily and monthly sales targets
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum KCSE certificate
Previous experience working in a retail shop, cereals shop, FMCG outlet, or as a merchandiser is highly preferred
Basic numeracy skills and strong customer service orientation
Honest, reliable, and well-groomed with good interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required
Physically fit and comfortable with standing for extended periods
