The EV Charging and swapping station Site Acquisition is responsible for leading and managing all site acquisition activities and country teams across the market to support the rollout and expansion of energy infrastructure. This role involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and team leadership to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of sites.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership


Develop and execute the site acquisition strategy aligned with business goals for each country.
Forecast site acquisition needs based on network rollout plans and market expansion.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, legal, finance, and operations teams.
Develop online platform for site acquisition to keep acquisition tech enabled.
Forecast the challenges and prepare the mitigation plan.


Team & Vendor Management


Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of country acquisition managers and field agents.
Oversee third-party vendors, consultants, and legal advisors involved in acquisition processes.
Set KPIs and performance metrics for internal teams and external partners.


Regulatory & Compliance


Ensure compliance with local, regional, and national regulations, including zoning, environmental, and land laws.
Liaise with government authorities, municipalities, and regulatory bodies to secure permits and approvals.


Stakeholder Engagement


Negotiate high-value lease agreements with landowners, landlords, and public institutions.
Negotiate and conclude the bulk acquisition and B2B sites acquisitions.
Secure the land for solar installations and solar enabled swapping stations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including businesses, landlords, and religious community leaders.
Represent the company in industry forums and public consultations.


Operational Excellence


Monitor acquisition progress across all regions and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets.
Resolve escalated issues related to land disputes, permitting delays, or community resistance.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in acquisition processes.
Secure the Right of Way for power lines from source tapping points to the connection point.


Reporting & Governance


Provide regular updates to executive leadership on acquisition status, risks, and opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of all acquisition activities, contracts, and compliance documentation.
Ensure data integrity in acquisition tracking systems and dashboards.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in real estate, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
15+ years of experience in telecom infrastructure, EV infrastructure, land acquisition for solar plant, real estate, or large-scale project acquisition.
Proven leadership experience managing national or multi-regional teams.
Strong understanding of regulations, land use laws, and permitting processes.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiency in project management tools and enterprise systems (e.g., Salesforce, MS Project).
Open for African market and travelling to sites in upcountry locations.
