Responsibilities
Supervise daily construction, refurbishment, maintenance, and repair activities across multiple sites.
Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to programme.
Allocate daily tasks to labour teams and monitor productivity and workmanship.
Ensure all work complies with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and company requirements.
Conduct regular site inspections and identify defects, risks, or delays requiring corrective action.
Assist with site establishment, setting out, and interpretation of construction drawings.
Monitor material usage and notify management of procurement requirements to avoid delays.
Ensure materials, tools, equipment, and plant are correctly utilised, maintained, and secured.
Maintain accurate site records, including labour attendance, daily diaries, deliveries, and progress reports.
Enforce Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards and ensure compliance with all site regulations.
Conduct toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings.
Assist the Site Agent with progress tracking and reporting.
Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to quality and programme requirements.
Completion of snag list, quality inspections, and handover processes.
Promote teamwork, discipline, accountability, and high standards across all site personnel.
Requirements
Qualification
National Certificate, Diploma, or Trade Qualification in Building, Construction, Carpentry, Civil Works, or a related field.
Trade Test qualification will be advantageous.
OHS Representative or Supervisor training will be advantageous.
Relevant construction industry certifications will be advantageous.
Experience and Knowledge
Minimum 5 years' experience as a Site / Construction Foreman, General Foreman, or similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
Proven experience supervising residential, commercial, healthcare, or refurbishment projects.
Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, quality control, and site coordination.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Sound knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation and site compliance requirements.
Experience coordinating subcontractors, labour teams, and suppliers.
Knowledge of setting out and basic surveying principles.
Experience maintaining site documentation and records.
