Job Objective
The position will provide operational support to the University Stores by assisting with the receipt, storage and organization of goods after inspection and acceptance. The role will also support the issue, return, and basic accountability of ingredients, utensils, cutlery, and other materials required for student hospitality practicals, including checking for unused ingredients and reusable items.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in receiving, verifying and documenting goods delivered to the University Store.
Check quantities and item details against approved procurement and delivery documents.
Assist in safely storing and organising goods and maintaining a clean Store environment.
Support the preparation and issuance of ingredients, utensils, cutlery and other materials for hospitality practicals.
Record and account for items issued, returned, damaged or missing after practical sessions.
Assist in issuing inventory and assets to authorised departments against approved documentation.
Support accurate recording and updating of inventory transactions in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Participate in stock-taking, asset verification, spot checks and identification of stock variances.
Maintain proper Store records, filing and supporting documentation, and assist with routine reports.
Comply with University stores, procurement and inventory procedures and promptly report losses, damages, shortages, or discrepancies.
Qualifications
Certificate in Purchasing and Supplies, Supply Chain Management, Stores Management or a related field.
KCSE mean grade of D+ and above.
At least one year of relevant experience in stores, inventory management, supply chain or a related environment.
Experience in a hospitality, catering, educational or institutional environment will be an added advantage.
Experience using an ERP system will be an added advantage.
