Job Description
A reputable consulting engineering firm is seeking a Structural Draughtsman / Technician to join its Durbanville office on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with structural drafting experience to work on a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and educational building projects.
The successful candidate will form part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, contributing to the delivery of high-quality structural designs and drawings from concept through to construction.
Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate 2D and 3D structural drawings and models.
Develop conceptual layouts for structural projects.
Manage drawing production, revisions, and document control.
Ensure drawings are issued accurately and within project deadlines.
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and dimensions.
Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other project stakeholders.
Perform ad hoc site inspections and prepare technical reports.
Assist in delivering project requirements while maintaining quality and compliance.
Ensure all drawings comply with relevant industry standards and project specifications.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience in structural drafting.
Proven experience working on building structures.
Proficiency in preparing structural drawings using both 2D and 3D software.
Good understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.
Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and building codes.
Site experience will be advantageous.
