Role Purpose
The supply chain analytics team fits into the bigger retail Supply Chain function. They use data-driven insights to support strategic and operational decision-making across projects and initiatives. The team's purpose is to analyse end-to-end supply chain data to identify inefficiencies in current processes, highlight opportunities for continuous and future improvement, and to enable smarter, faster decision-making through clear communication of trends and patterns.
Role Description
Provide data analytics support to the Supply Chain, Logistics, and Omnichannel teams to enable informed, data-led decisions.
Build and maintain data models to simulate scenarios or improvement opportunities.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights through impactful visualisation using descriptive analytics to communicate to stakeholders across various levels of the organisation.
Structuring and driving the implementation of improvement initiatives alongside the Supply Chain management team.
Desired Attributes:
Proficient with data analytics methodologies such as regression, optimisation, classification, forecasting and clustering.
Comfortable developing and maintaining modelling tools and algorithms in Excel / Python / Qliksense / SQL.
Business acumen.
An understanding of supply chain, warehousing, logistics and retail principles.
Eager learner and creative problem solver.
Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Driven, disciplined and hard-working.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Data Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
Master's degree (advantageous but not required).
1 - 5 years' experience in data analytics or data science.
The Environment:
The Supply Chain Analytics team follows a hybrid work environment - part remote, part in-person at tbe Head Office in Cape Town CBD. Occasional travelling to the distribution center in Montague Gardens may also be required depending on projects and tasks.
You will join a young and dynamic team of other analysts.
