Job Summary
The System Administrator will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of all IT systems, hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This includes ensuring system performance, security, availability, and compliance across Microsoft 365, Bitdefender IT security, networking, internet connectivity, CCTV surveillance, and the organization's website. The role requires a strong focus on proactive problem-solving, security best practices, and user support.
This is a crucial position for ensuring reliable IT services and will involve collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and partners to implement best-in-class IT practices.
Key Responsibilities
Microsoft 365 Administration:
User and License Management: Create, configure, and manage user accounts, groups, and distribution lists in Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Assign and manage Microsoft 365 licenses (e.g., Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Office applications).
Email & Collaboration: Administer Exchange Online (mail flow, mailbox permissions, spam filters), Microsoft Teams (policies, channels, meetings), SharePoint Online (site collections, permissions, data storage), and OneDrive for Business.
Security & Compliance: Implement and manage security and compliance features within M365, including data loss prevention (DLP), e-discovery, retention policies, and conditional access policies. Monitor the Unified Audit Log for suspicious activities.
Troubleshooting & Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all Microsoft 365 applications and services, resolving user issues related to access, functionality, and performance.
IT Security (Bitdefender & General):
Endpoint Security Management: Administer and manage the Bitdefender console. Deploy, configure, and monitor Bitdefender agents on all endpoints (desktops, laptops, servers).
Threat Detection & Response: Monitor Bitdefender alerts, investigate security incidents (malware, viruses, ransomware), and implement remediation actions. Conduct regular scans and ensure signature updates.
Policy Management: Create, enforce, and update security policies within Bitdefender to align with the organization's security posture (e.g., firewall rules, content control, device control, web access policies).
Vulnerability Management: Assist in identifying system vulnerabilities and recommend/implement patches and security configurations.
Security Awareness: Contribute to developing and delivering security awareness training for employees.
Networking & Internet:
Network Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, access points, and firewalls.
Network Connectivity: Ensure stable and secure internet connectivity for the entire organization, troubleshooting outages and optimizing bandwidth usage.
Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance, traffic, and security events. Identify and resolve network bottlenecks and connectivity issues.
Cabling & Physical Infrastructure: Oversee network cabling, server room organization, and environmental controls.
ISP Liaison: Liaise with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for service delivery, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
CCTV Surveillance System:
System Administration: Manage the CCTV surveillance system, including the network video recorder (NVR), cameras, and associated software.
Storage Management: Monitor and manage video storage capacity, ensuring sufficient space and adherence to retention policies.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues with CCTV cameras, cabling, recording, and playback.
Liaison: Coordinate with security personnel or relevant departments regarding footage requests and system functionality.
Website Management:
Content Management System (CMS) Administration: Administer the organization's website platform using WordPress.
Website Security: Implement and maintain website security measures (e.g., SSL certificates, regular security scans, vulnerability patching).
Backup & Recovery: Ensure regular backups of website data and databases, and perform restores as needed.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor website performance, uptime, and load times.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve website-related issues, errors, or outages.
Collaboration: Work with marketing or content teams for website updates and content deployment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role, with a strong focus on the areas outlined above.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, Azure AD).
Experience with endpoint security solutions, specifically Bitdefender GravityZone, is highly desirable.
Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, routing, switching).
Experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, potentially Linux).
Familiarity with CCTV surveillance systems.
Basic understanding of website management principles and platforms.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+) are a significant plus.
