Role Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically sound Tax Associate to support tax compliance, advisory, and reporting for a growing client portfolio.
This role is best suited for candidates with hands-on experience in an audit, accounting, or tax consulting firm, and a strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory filings.
This role requires practical tax experience.
Candidates without experience in tax filing, compliance, or audit firms will not be considered.


Key Responsibilities


Prepare and file accurate tax returns: CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE, and other statutory filings
Liaise with regulatory bodies such as FIRS, LIRS, and other tax authorities
Review financial records to ensure accuracy in tax computations
Support tax audits, reconciliations, investigations, and dispute resolution
Conduct tax research and provide compliance and advisory recommendations
Assist in tax planning and client advisory services
Maintain proper documentation and organized tax records
Monitor statutory deadlines to ensure timely filings
Respond to client inquiries and maintain strong professional relationships


Requirements (Non-Negotiable)


Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc / HND) in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum of 2 years experience in an audit, accounting, or tax consulting firm
Strong hands-on experience with Nigerian tax filings (CIT, VAT, WHT, PAYE)
Working knowledge of FIRS and State IRS processes
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/tax tools

ICAN/ACCA qualified or in-view
Experience handling multiple client accounts
Experience in tax audit or advisory roles
