About the Client:
Our client, a reputable Construction company, is actively looking for a Team Leader (Logistics), who will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all logistics and transport operations to ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective delivery of materials and products. The role involves managing the fleet of heavy commercial vehicles, supervising drivers and mechanics, monitoring fuel usage, ensuring preventive maintenance, and maintaining compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily transport and logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of materials and concrete.
Plan and monitor dispatch schedules for tippers, dumpers, and mixer trucks for maximum fleet utilization.
Oversee fuel management, consumption tracking, and accurate reporting to control operational costs.
Ensure all vehicles undergo regular preventive maintenance and are in good working condition.
Liaise with the workshop for vehicle repairs, servicing, and inspections.
Monitor driver performance, discipline, attendance, and compliance with company policies.
Maintain up-to-date fleet records including mileage, fuel usage, service logs, and insurance documentation.
Ensure adherence to all statutory transport and road safety regulations.
Coordinate with procurement and stores for availability of spare parts and consumables.
Manage dispatch documentation, including delivery notes and trip reports.
Conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions for drivers and logistics staff.
Analyze and report on fleet performance, fuel efficiency, and maintenance costs.
Recommend improvements for cost control, route optimization, and operational efficiency.
Supervise loading and offloading activities to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Transport & Logistics Management, or a related field.
7 years and above of proven experience in fleet/transport management (preferably in construction, logistics, or manufacturing industry).
Mechanical graduates from NYS are highly preferred.
Proven supervisory experience managing drivers, mechanics, and dispatch staff.
Sound knowledge of heavy commercial vehicles (tippers, dumpers, mixer trucks, etc.).
Strong understanding of fleet dispatch planning, fuel control systems, and preventive maintenance schedules.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with fleet management software is an added advantage.
