Job Summary:


WTS Energy is seeking a Technical Sales Coordinator to support commercial and technical activities for fixed gas and flame detection solutions. This role operates within the industrial safety and instrumentation sector, focusing on product supply, on-site commissioning, and maintenance services. The Technical Sales Coordinator will manage key accounts, develop new business prospects, prepare technical and commercial offers, and provide on-site training and technical troubleshooting. The position requires close collaboration with sales, engineering, operations teams, and clients to ensure timely delivery of high-quality safety solutions that comply with regulatory standards. Candidates can expect a dynamic role involving project coordination, customer engagement, and continuous professional development in a safety-critical environment.


Responsibilities:


Consolidate and manage the established customer base, maintaining strong key account relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
Develop the sector through targeted prospecting and lead generation activities to expand market presence.
Prepare accurate and timely technical and commercial proposals, ensuring a turnaround time of less than 48 hours.
Monitor submitted offers and provide ongoing support to customers throughout the sales and service lifecycle.
Conduct site surveys at customer locations, adhering strictly to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Perform first-level maintenance both onsite and in workshop settings, including preventive and corrective actions.
Liaise effectively with vendors, internal procurement, and technical partners to secure competitive pricing, lead times, and availability of gas and flame detection equipment and spare parts.
Deliver comprehensive on-site training to end-users covering system operation, safety procedures, and basic troubleshooting techniques.
Develop and implement maintenance plans, service-level agreements, and spare-parts kits to optimize system uptime and reliability.
Track, analyze, and report maintenance key performance indicators such as uptime, mean-time-between-failures, and response times to drive continuous improvement.
Provide expert technical troubleshooting support remotely and onsite for gas detector alarms, calibration issues, and flame sensor anomalies.
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation including datasheets, commissioning reports, inspection certificates, and calibration records.
Coordinate logistics activities to ensure timely shipment, customs clearance, and on-time delivery of equipment and materials.
Stay current with industry standards, local regulatory requirements, and procurement best practices to ensure compliance and competitive advantage.


Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related field).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, project coordination, or field service within industrial safety, instrumentation, or process control sectors.
Proven expertise with fixed gas detection, flame detection, or fire & gas systems.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, capable of conveying complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
Proficient in troubleshooting and root-cause analysis with a methodical approach.
Familiarity with gas sensor technologies (electrochemical, catalytic, IR) and flame detection principles (UV/IR, IR3).
Working knowledge of fire & gas system architecture, relay logic, and 4 - 20 mA loop wiring.
Competent in MS Office Suite, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), and basic CAD review.
Willingness and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally as required.


Preferred Qualifications:


Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
Membership in professional engineering bodies (e.g., COREN).
Sound knowledge of the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry.
High commercial acumen with strong negotiation skills.
Demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain professional relationships with clients, regulators, and internal teams.
Proactive self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, able to work independently and collaboratively.
