Job Description :
Facilitate and coordinate all undergraduate practicals within the Biomedical Sciences laboratories.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate and coordinate all undergraduate practicals within the Biomedical Sciences laboratories.
Assist in the identification of non-technical duties such as procurement of laboratory equipment, furnishing and laboratory consumables, stock control and organisation of waste removal.
Ensure that occupational health and safety risks are followed to minimise risk.
Manage the technical preparation of the laboratory according to the relevant procedures daily.
Assist in the ordering of equipment and laboratory consumables.
Keep the register of all equipment up to date.
Maintain all equipment by servicing as and when required.
Ensure safe keeping of all equipment in the laboratories.
Control the use of laboratory consumables.
Act as Health & Safety Officer (SHE reps, Fire fighters, & First Aid) to ensure compliance.
Maintain injury register by ensuring constant updates.
Assist postgraduate students and researchers with their laboratory processes.
Assist with minor repairs of laboratory equipment.
Minimum requirements
A National Diploma in Biomedical Technology (NDip)/ BTech/ Medical Laboratory Sciences (MLS).
HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist/ MLS (Histopathology).
Technical experience with at least three (3) to five (5) years' histopathology laboratory experience.
Recommendations:
Experience in training in the laboratory will be an added advantage.

Proficient in computer skills (Microsoft, Excel, internet, and emails).
