The Veterinary Nurse will be responsible for a diverse range of clinical and nursing duties, including:
Providing compassionate, high-quality nursing care to hospitalised and surgical patients
Assisting veterinarians with consultations, procedures and surgical cases
Preparing patients for anaesthesia and monitoring them throughout procedures
Monitoring recovering and hospitalised patients and maintaining accurate clinical records
Administering prescribed medications and treatments
Performing routine nursing procedures and patient assessments
Assisting with diagnostic procedures and sample collection
Maintaining high standards of hygiene, sterilisation and infection control
Educating and communicating with clients regarding patient care and treatment
Supporting the veterinary team during emergency cases
Ensuring equipment, treatment areas and clinical spaces are clean, organised and appropriately stocked
Participating in the on-call and after-hours rota
Contributing to a positive, professional and supportive team environment

A qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse with the SAVC

Calm and capable of handling emergency and high-pressure situations
Organised, reliable and attentive to detail
An effective communicator with clients, colleagues and veterinary professionals
Willing and able to participate in the 1-in-4 on-call rota
Eager to contribute positively to the continued growth of the practices
