Your Responsibilities
Support procurement processes for WASH infrastructure projects, including contractor sourcing, bid evaluation, due diligence, and contract documentation.
Provide technical oversight, supervision, and quality assurance for the construction and rehabilitation of boreholes, latrines, medical incinerators, and other WASH facilities.
Prepare technical designs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), progress measurements, and ensure contractors comply with contractual obligations, organizational policies, and quality standards.
Coordinate with government authorities, WASH stakeholders, community structures, and WASHCOMs to ensure compliance, community participation, and successful project implementation.
Monitor project activities against work plans, conduct site inspections, and contribute to timely delivery of project outputs and effective use of resources.
Develop and maintain project documentation, monitoring systems, and contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, lessons learned, success stories, and program updates.
Integrate community engagement, gender, protection, accountability to affected populations, and capacity-building approaches into all WASH activities while adhering to organizational security and operational policies.
Your profile
University degree in Environmental Health, Engineering, or related field.
Experience in WASH emergency programming with strong focus on community mobilization and familiarity with Sphere and WASH Cluster standards.
Experience in conducting hygiene promotion, training, NFI distribution, planning, and reporting.
Knowledge of behaviour change approaches and community engagement methodologies.
Strong understanding of gender, protection, and inclusion in humanitarian work.
Strong written and spoken English required, Hausa and/or local language skills are an asset.
Ability to travel frequently to remote areas and work under emergency conditions.
