Purpose
To carry out electrical repairs, wiring, panel work, testing, and maintenance of workshop equipment and fabricated assemblies, ensuring safe, reliable, and timely support for production, utility, and maintenance operations in line with FMN's engineering, HSE, and quality standards.
The Job
Performing electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and wiring on workshop machinery, including welding sets, grinders, drilling machines, and cutting equipment.
Building, wiring, and assembling electrical panels, control circuits, junction boxes, and cable terminations for workshop and machine modification projects.
Conducting routine inspections and maintenance of workshop electrical systems, including lighting, sockets, distribution boards, and isolators.
Supporting fabrication activities by installing motors, switches, sensors, relays, and other electrical components on repaired or newly fabricated equipment.
Testing electrical circuits and components using diagnostic tools to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with standards.
Ensuring proper electrical installation practices, including earthing, cable routing, gland termination, and circuit protection.
Maintaining accurate documentation of job cards, electrical test reports, material usage, and daily workshop activities.
Qualifications
5 O' level credits including Mathematics &English in not more than 2 sittings.
Technical certification would be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience as an Electrician in a workshop, manufacturing plant, or industrial maintenance environment.
The Person Must:
Possess strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, control panels, and fault diagnosis.
Demonstrate proficiency in cable termination, motor wiring, protection devices, and control circuits.
Be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Have a strong commitment to electrical safety.
